6 Simple Ways to Lose Weight and Fat During Summer

6 simple ways to lose weight and fat during summer

The sun shining and temperature is a high of 30. This isn’t abroad this here in UK. Glastonbury Festival and Wimbledon Tennis has seen its fair amount of uninterrupted sunshine in a long long time. So if you are feeling sluggish, a little weighed down and are ready to turn over a new leaf this summer few small change in your lifestyle is all you need. Loosing weight does not have to be taxing and the side effects will put a bigger smile on your face while enjoying summer.

Drink
I mean drink more water. Water is a much better choice. Half of pint of water contains 0 calories, compared to fizzy drinks (approx. 137 calories), lager (approx. 153 calories), a small glass of red wine (approx. 88 calories). Reducing sugary fizzy drinks and alcoholic beverages can significantly help you on your journey of fat and weight loss. Drinking water flushes out all the toxins and waste products from the body. Simply put not drinking enough water on a daily basis is like not flushing the toilet every time you visit it.

Get Moving – Get Fit
Get off the bus or train a few stops before yours and walk the rest of the way. It certainly beats being coped up with all the sweaty people. Bike to work and home. You can burn up to 150 calories by walking 2 miles or cycling 5 miles in 30 minutes. There is a great scheme set up by the government, “ Ride to Work”. This is a tax-free scheme that will help employees make great savings on a new bike and spread the cost over months and employers get a healthier workforce and save money too.

Shop right
Avoid all processed foods, they contain high amounts of sugars, salts and other ingredients that the body and mind can do without. Processed foods include 99% of all breakfast cereals. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so start it right. Almost all breakfast cereals contain high doses of sugar and salts, which to be honest the whole family could do without. Opt for fresh green vegetables and the bright coloured ones too, fresh fruit (berries are in season). Generally speaking most of the healthy foods contain little or no fat or added sugars.

Choose the right Proteins
Protein is an important part of healthy eating. You should have a small portion of lean protein with every meal. Fish, lean poultry, lentils, and vegetables are a great source healthy proteins. This will help maintain your muscles and speed up your fat and weight loss.

Cold Soups
When foods are liquidized then are more filling and you can pack more nutrients in one bowl. There are great cold soups recipes that can be found under the following search terms on google “berry soups”, “gazpacho” and “vichyssoise”. Remember soups are highly nutrient dense healthy foods and cold soups will satisfy the urge to keep cool during the summertime.

Exercise
Last but not least exercise. Join a group exercise fitness class to get you motivated and keep you there. Working out with like minded people helps your journey of weight and fat loss much more pleasurable. There are plenty of outdoor fitness boot camps and classes around these days. I run such fitness classes in Leeds for people just like yourselves. Choose a group isn’t too big where you are just a number and get lost in the crowd.

Thats it really. A eating and fitness plan will require simple planning and the results will help you enjoy the summer all that and more. I hope you enjoy your summer a little lighter and more freer.
