Eating in Season
WHY eat the seasons?
Seasonal food is fresher which in turn will be tastier and is more nutritious. Provided you get from your local fruit and vegetable shop or farmers market, then you will also be supporting the local economy rather than big corporations. If you are conscious about the environment then it would have travelled the shortest distance and therefore help with the CO2 emissions. So find your local farmers market or nearest fruit and veg store, make sure the produce is local and happy eating. Details for farmers market is generally found at the council websites. For those living in Leeds here is a link to the FRAMERS MARKETS website.
Here is a simple guide to eating in season.
